<<Has the problem machine exact the same configuration than the other (no
problem) machine (memory manager)? How much conventional memory do they have?
Do you use VMM? How much memory does the VMM use?>>
Im using Dos Memaker on both. The problem machine shows 590kb conventional
memory. I have a line set dos4gvm=d:\rayman\rayman.vmc in the autoexec.bat. In
rayman.vmc the virtualsize=65536000.
The situation is different than in my previous message and, to me , more
mystifying. I can now enter rayshell and render files except that on four out
of eight tests it just stopped rendering and either locks up, requiring a reset
or gets horozontal lines across the top of the screen and locks up requiring a
reset. The files that will render are simple ones like pencil.3ds; the ones that
wont run are more complex like marbvase.3ds and alessi.3ds. Once it locked up
on trying to exit after a succeful render. The partial renders looked fine up
until the problem. I have used this machine for 3ds and now as a slave with no
problems. These problems showed up after making a few test renders , a process
I did not go through on the non problem machine ( which actually has less
conventional memory ). I need to run rayman on the machine thats having
problems because testing ray tracing is time consuming enough that I cant
afford to run it on my main 3ds machine. I have run memmaker again-same
problem-locks after the first 1/4 of the render.
I am unable to run rayman on either machine when networked ( Lantastic ) .On
trying to open a file I get " Problem 1005 out of memory, for immediate
storage…(function Ed Halloc()). How much conventional memory does rayman
require? This is a secondary problem that I would only be concerned about if
the above problem were solved.
Thanks
