You might have trouble with the VM on that machine if you got the new PCI bus version. I am PCI and the only 640×480 30fps/60fieldps board I have even read about is the new Thundervision. I am still putting together info myself to build my first NLE desktop, so if you hear of anything else PCI within a lean budget range, let me know. Two powerful editors are Razor (which is optimized for Pentiums, by the way) and Premier. Given some BIG FAST hard drives, either can give you great results. Meanwhile, if you don't need 3D animation for a couple of months, Lightwave for Windows is due to be released in April (I talked w/ Newtek last week).
