2500UX shown in D.C.
Amiga 2500UX Shown at Uniforum in Washington, D.C.! I was at the Unix
specific show Uniforum this week in D.C. and was surprised to see Commodore
showing off the 2500UX. Commodore did not have a booth there, but had its
presence there in a booth promoting UNIX. The 2500UX was sporting the Open
Look interface, the graphical user interface supported by AT&T and Sun
Microsystems (Open Look is also available on Sun's Sparcstation and AT&T
systems). The show configuration consisted of a 68030 cpu board with 4 MB
RAM, 100 MB hard disk, ethernet card, 150 MB internal tape backup, and a
Moniterm hi-res monochrome monitor. It was also running a few X-windows
applications. The Commodore spokesman there did not comment on release
dates for the machine. He did mention that there will be an upgrade option
available to current Amiga 2000 owners.
