From HAUS.TIFF, it looks like you can slice with more than a simple infinate plane thru the object. How do you specify the slice? How is this different from a boolean? (that is, a set of boolean subtractions on copies of the objects) If I download GOLD_C.EXE will that explain everything, or do you have something else which explains this better? SCALPEL will not replace boolean functions in 3D Studio nor does it use any kind of boolean algorithm. Our SCALPEL IPAS does one thing very precise and perfect (like a SCALPEL). With SCALPEL you will be able to cut any mesh object into two halfs. This is done in realtime (depending on your pc and memory) and anytime faster than a equal boolean. The V8 Motor was cut in about a minute and 3Ds own boolean took more than a hour. SCALPEL will allow more than one cut in one go. So it's possible to even create a round (interpolated) cut into any object. It doesn't matter how many cuts you are placing onto one or any number of objects. You just decide wich part is left over after doing several cuts in one go. You gave me a good idea I'm going to create an interactive demo of one cut as FLI File. Have you decided on a price yet? As mentioned above SCALPEL is able to slice along a "path" as long as you understand how the path is done. A zig zag cut into any mesh could be realized in this way. The price will be around US$99. SCALPEL will Include a userfriendly IPAS3 interface with a realtime preview. The realtime preview will be able to show any number of seperated objects. There is no need to group the objects before you use our IPAS. With displace for example you are not able to select more than one object for operation.
