Quite frankly, I've about had it with Shareware but then the program I
wrote had a pretty limited market and several commercial competitors that
seemed to appear out of nowhere when I was done. I had a total of 90
downloads from CIS and Genie. Out of that, 2 people have said "It's not
what I wanted", and I've received 6 checks. Somewhat disappointing for 3
months work. Lack of returns is also the main reason the Fedit disk editor
for the Mac is no longer Shareware. Shareware seems to be good if you just
want some extra spending money, but not a way to go if you're going to make
a living. – gary –
