There is no *good* test that applies over the various systems. Best thing I
can recommend is get diskperf and run it now; then install the new pal and
drivers and run it again. You do not have to reformat, I believe that they
have done it for you – in any case, the only reason to reformat is for the
extra space and for performance – it will work with the old method just fine,
though things aren't 100% straightforward, due to some stupidities in the old
driver. –Ben–
