I recently acquired KickWork and KickBench. So I now have the setup you
describe. At the time I was looking at the Amiga as a possible business
machine these were not available (I bought my "work" Amiga in 1985).
Today, an A2000 is the same price as a similarly configured PS/2, which
has faster disks, better resolution, better business software, and the
advantage of being blue. And there is a difference: autobooting off the
floppy switching to the hard disk is MUCH slower.
As for the resolution, even for E-mail, higher pixel densities are easier
on the eyes. And in order to do a decent terminal emulation for our
mainframe terminals, (and the graphics are pretty straightforward) one
would need higher densities.
I used to think the A1000 was a machine with great potential. I bought
two (one for home, one for office). For home it is still great (I had my
Sun 3/110 removed because I like the Amiga better). I wouldn't recommend
it for business use.
