"A 100% rigid…" doesn't exist. The pressure wave you are proposing will
propogate through the rod at the rod's speed of sound. In extreme rigidities,
we can look at the fact that the rod is held together by electromagnetic forces
and specify the theoretical limit for electromagnetic propagation (c). Since no
material provides a speed of sound anywhere near the same magnitude as c, we
won't worry about it.
