Doug, I'm ahead of you on that! I've got a copy of Preferences in my C:
directory called Prefs. This is the one I run if I am in CLI. But it
still takes about three seconds to load (from hard disk) and just to change
the margins for example I would need to click on 'Change Printer' then in
the left margin requester, delete the old number, type the new one, and the
same for the right margin, then I click on 'OK' and then 'USE'. With the
program I've just finished I just have to type: 'PRINTER left 5 right 75'
and that's it! (guess what, that was a plug!) Or whatever settings I have
to change. I already have cut down on my use of Preferences considerably,
since my program can even save the new settings as a Preferences file,
even 'devs:system-configuration' if you like! (Aren't I brilliant!)
