Bob, the program called AutoSIG (also known as ATO) is great for message management, most of us here at Autodesk use it. It is a public domain program that you can download from the IBMCOM Forum. It has a function "T" (for "Thread") that downloads all messages and replies starting with a specified message number (default= last message read) and stores them in a file that you can read and reply to off-line. The message file is a text file that you can modify, rename, save, etc. It has an editor for composing messages/replies off-line, and a function "S" to send messages to the Forum. It's highly recommended, and we can help you get up and running with it. Go for it! =SM=
