And what kind of machine was the dealer trying to sell you? Here in town we have about 5 Amiga dealer's….if you called each one about availability of various Amiga items you'd probably get 5 different stories. I've stuck with one dealer because I an trust them…they don't give me any bull, they try to keep stock on hand and they know what they are talking about for the most part. As a result of that attitude…they are also the largest dealer in the area. They also have a good service department. Example: A co-worker wanted an A2000. He went to 3 dealers and dealer #1 told him that the A2000 was a pile of junk and tried to sell him an off-brand PC clone. The 2nd dealer told him the A2000 was a good machine, but CBM had run out of stock and he couldn't possibly get any in stock for at least 6 weeks or more…but would my friend be interesting in putting up $1500 in deposit to be sure to get one out of the next shipment (they also tried to push a PC clone off on him). He finaly went to my dealer's…not only did they have stock, but they took the time to explain the machine to him. My dealer also sells PC clones, but they didn't try to sell one to this guy, he came in and asked about an Amiga…and that's what he wanted and bought. In other words, it's all in how the dealer runs his business. I fully expect some to be good and some to be bad. As to the newer Amiga's…yes I expect to see them…probably within the next 6 months or so. The hardware is ready right now as far as I can tell…the marketing and certification still has to be done. Don
