Seems to me that no matter how many times you explain the point you were trying to make, it seems to get missed entirely. Anyhoo, to show you that your point WAS received by some of us, let me have a go at it : Public networks can and should be used by anyone, even during work hours, provided : 1) the mandate of the job is specifically to provide that type of liason with the tech and user communities (e.g. PR/marketing/sales or support people), or 2) time spent (as a percentage of total pay period) does not exceed an amount compatable with their employment mandate. In other words, it would be good to have a couple of people whose primary job was to interface with the public via public nets, but all others shouldn't be spending a vast amount of company time doing so. I think we all agree that what they do after hours is their own business. How's that?
