#80×86 <—> 680×0
I have noticed a Novell Netware ad that depicts an Intel 80×86-based
computer "talking" to a Motorola 680×0-based computer. My question to all
is whether the IEEE (I believe) numeric standards determining how a
floating point number is represented in bits and bytes applies to these two
computers regardless of the byte-order differences of their CPUs. In other
words, can the floating point DATA which comes from a C compiled program on
the IBM PC be used directly on an Amiga with a similar program?
I might as well get everything off my chest. Has anybody attempted to
network Amigas with PCs or with Macs? Has anybody attempted to network
Amigas with Amigas for that matter? I have a serious interest in this
subject and I'd like to know if anybody out there has similar interests.
Going off the AmigaTech track, does anybody know whether "Amigas" is proper
grammar or should it be "Amiga's" or is it both?
