#BYTE acclaims Amiga!
I've just read the review in Byte comparing the Amiga, IBM, Mac II
for graphics capabilities. Overall, it was a very positive review. It
described the Amiga's graphics as a step beyond the Mac II and 2 steps
beyond the PS/2. The author recommended it for games, animation and
graphics presentations. He persistently mentioned games. He made a big
point of the Amiga's ability to connect with standard TV type/ NTSC
signals. He mentioned the Amiga's multitasking, but said that there was a
degree of MT. Why a degree? He mentioned only two negatives: the smaller
user base leading to less software and the limitation on colors (4096
instead of 16.7 million). He does mention the HAM mode and the 2500, along
with the upcoming chip set and the PVA graphics adapter. Overall quite
positive! — Ethan
