Yes, you asked about C code to support a PC file system on a foriegn
machine. I recall seeing an ad in C Journal that had something like that,
for a very cheap price, on the order of $100 or so. I think I even called
them, once, and had a hard time getting through to a technical person. The
name Crosby comes to mind for the company name.
There are at least three MS-DOS file systems available for the Amiga, one a
commercial product, one PD, one unreleased. I think the unreleased one was
written mostly in C, by a group of developers who traditionally release
source code to their tools. There are two or three other utilities for the
Amiga that can read and write MD-DOS disks, but they aren't drop-in file
systems. So you might want to keep an eye peeled for Amiga / 68000 file
systems. Was it you, or Al Stevens, who recently in a recent column called
the Amiga an "amazing and wonderful system"? Gee, maybe the Amiga people
here are having *some* effect. 🙂
