No idea specifically, but are you and the UNIX machine set up for
the same communications parameters (baud rate, number of bits, parity,
etc.)?
Also…I note you have a -b19200 in the command line…I'm guessing
that is supposed to represent a baud rate? What kind of modem are you
using that supports that baud rate?
