Witness how many medical malpractice and product liability suits are based (and won) on the assumption that the current knowledge base should have somehow been known in the past. After all, the facts _obviously_ were true at the earlier time, so the defendent was _obviously_ negligent for not knowing them. I would ;), but I suppose <sigh> is more appropriate. David
