Lino RIP4??
Following up on the previous postings with a different question: anyone
know why we'd be getting the low, low price of $1500 for our newer L300,
and $2995 for our older (Densy) model? I dragged our rep through a knothole
trying to get an answer, but I'm still in the dark. Also, any thoughts on
why the upgrade might not work *at all* on the older machine (seems silly
to sell it if it doesn't work, but you never know)? This is what she seemed
to be suggesting. I'm lost. I did claim in the course of the conversation
that I could switch the RIPs to run on the opposite machines with no
trouble, although I never tried it: if this is so, it seems to me that the
LI-2 interface should react the same on both machines, so the upgrade
should work, and since the recorder doesn't know the difference, why should
I pay double for the second one? And one more question: anyone using one?
Our rep quoted 90-day delivery, so the answer is probably "no", but if
anyone has a unit in operation, I'd love some *accurate* speedup
percentages. Whew! Thanks for listening. –Russ Fish
