Jim – Just an observation about all those "squirts" you were getting on a paper-tape driven Lino – an interesting phenomenon that I saw was that semi-automated linecasters tended to get less preventive maintenance that did operator-driven linos, and they were run harder and longer, to boot! The net result is that the space bands on paper-tape machines tended to get cleaned about one-tenth as often for the same amount of typesetting, so it's no wonder that they squirted a lot! …mm
