To print out a full page of text with graphics at 300DPI on HP laser,
you're going to need at least 2.5 meg and probably 3 meg of ram IN THE
PRINTER. The ram in the computer's cpu (unfortunately) is not what counts
here. The computer creates an image of the page and actually downloads
that to the printer…so the printer must have enough ram to receive that
page. Some lasers will simply accept the input till they are full, and
then print out what they have received, and then accept more, then print
etc…. other lasers will give a memory full warning and wait for further
instruction.
