#The LaserLetter
Hi:
Just received a sample copy of The LaserLetter in the mail today. It's
suppose to be a monthly aimed at the "PostScript Imagesetting Community".
(Gee, i didn't know we constituted a "community" already — can't wait 'til
we're a town).
Not badly done, but all the information on gray fountains was in the
PostScript Language Journal months ago (and what ever happened to that mag
— I haven't received an issue in eons). There is also a rather exhaustive
article on bounding boxes, which kind of walks you through high school
geometry again, for those who missed it.
Can't see swinging the $144 they're asking for it annually. Anyone hear of
Peter Fink Communications in Newton, MA? That's the publisher.
Besides Seybold, MacWeek and, now, Kathleen Tinkel's MacPrePress, what else
is outthere that's worth reading regularly for interesting news (and it
sure isn't Linotype's newletter, LinoTalk, which is about the worse written
and layed-out newsletter I've ever seen — definitely a candidate for a
redo by the folks at Newsletter Factory).
