Philip,
We have had great success with Minolta copiers.
We currently have two EP410Z models. They have a range of 50 to 200% by
0.1% increments, with programable buttons for oft-used sizes, etc. They
have a sharp line edge and produce good solid blacks. Standard paper sizes
for the machine are 8.5 x 11, 8.5 x 14 and 11 x 17, but odd sizes (up to 11
x 17) can be hand fed.
The price was about $3200 and we leased to buy with a 2 year plan that cost
about $135 per month. The service contracts are steep but worth it as you
may end up calling the service agent in a couple of times to assure him/her
you really WANT the blacks to be that solid!
I used a Minolta EP450 for about three years at a former job (a newspaper).
It was worked to death and last I heard it was still producing great
copies. Several of the other copiers used there were always down.
Hope this helps — I enjoy giving a good recommendation to products I'm
happy with!
