Jeff, Get VLT or VLTJr. It is a freeware Terminal/Comm program written at SLAC (Stanford Linear Accelerator). Although the program was mainly written so the folks at SLAC could interface there Amiga's with the mainframes they have, it works fine as a general Comm program. It is by far better than HandShake, VT100 and CKermit which are the only other Kermit compatible Comm program I can think of in the PD/Shareware area. VLTJr is the same as VLT only it does not have the Textronic's graphics terminal, which it sounds like you will not be needing. VLT(Jr) is also AREXX compatible and have a scripting language of it's own if you don't have AREXX. A note on documentation. When you download it it will be without docs. There might be a doc file also available, but it is poorly hacked together from TEX files that the manual was written in for SLAC. Do not dispair though. Simple send your name and address to: Publications Department SLAC Bin 68 PO Box 4349 Stanford, CA 94302 Ask for: "A Valiant Little Terminal – A VLT User's Guide" SLAC Report 370 Author Amanda Weinstein They will send you a very nicely printed manual, FREE OF CHARGE. They even pay the postage. <<< Michael Shea >>>> <<< 76665,3360 >>>>
