Boy I'll say … whenever someone sees my Mac he says, "Is that a Mac?" Even if he owns a Mac himself, he asks that … I've done some weird stuff to it. And when I used the Amiga at work, I was utterly lost at first, then slowly figured out the GUI. The GUI. Despite days of fiddling I never understood the CLI well enough to be able to get Xwindows up and running without help. (Note: there were configuration difficulties … possibly that's not a good example.) About the brain functions: I'm certain you're right. Example; I cannot put names to faces at all, and can't really distinguish faces until I've known someone a month or more (truth!! it's caused nasty problems). But after that, I can recognize someone just by the way they _breathe_, or their stride out in the hall. Also, I can remember events – like history, jokes, anecdotes – incredibly well (if I DO say so myself), but as for the names in those events, forget it. This is just the worst. Imagine having a million anecdotes to tell, but not doing it because people assume you're inventing it if you can't remember names and places… Sometimes I bring my sources just to try to keep my credibility up.
