I have some questions about the GURU interpreter program "Alert."
I DL'd it a while ago, but never used it too much because I couldn't get
the CLI window to close once it started. (I was also pretty new to Amigas)
I recently DL'd NEWALE.ZOO, but it seems to be just a patch of some sort,
not the interpreter itself. I was hoping to "rediscover" it and have it run
from my startup-sequence.
But, the Alert.Doc I found on an old disk of mine seems to be truncated
or something. I remember reading of some way to have the window close, but
didn't understand it. Now I can't find the instructions.
So my questions are these:
How can I have it run from the Startup-sequence yet close the CLI
when the sequence is done?
What is the specific purpose of NewAlert?
Does Alert running in the background cause any trouble with the
Toaster (i.e. screen blankers & such are a no-no according to the Toaster
manual)?
Any help is appreciated.
