Just received the first of the 3rd party software today at my local dealer in
Ohio. First two titles to arrive were Activision's adventure games,
"Mindshadow", and "Hacker". Both were specified to run on 256K machines and
both use Ver. 1.0 of dos. Noticed that the write-protect was not on so I moved
it to write-protect. On booting, it told me to remove the write-protect and
reboot. I then detected the unmistakable sounds of copy protection when the
drive was booting the disk. Trying to copy it, was successful till track 79
when it gave me an error of 'No sector header'. The disk would boot and the
program would run, but items would not appear where they should, and wierd text
would be given for answers. I've purchased Pascal too, and am not impressed
with it. It's just a standard implementation with no special features to take
advantage of the Amiga's specialties. Doesn't even mention a word about using
the built-in AMiga libraries. Very disappointing. Ed.
