I don't know of any program at this point that will fully support
dBASE III program files…I wish I did. AT drives were faster than XT
drives, but that shouldn't matter at all as far as the PC side is
concerned. If you've got a PC style controller and the drive, and it
worked on your AT it should work on the Bridge PRESUMING it wasn't a 16 bit
controller (required an AT type slot vs an XT type slot). The A2000 has an
AT style slot available, but I'm not so sure a 16 bit periferial would
work…I strongly suspect not.
Someone ( I forgot who) mentioned on one of the threads that there
might not be a way to use the PC speed up boards in the 2000 because of
"timing". Have you heard of it. I would think that for those of us who
have invested in the first Bridge, CBM would look kindly on us and allow
for a speed up board so we wouldn't have to pay $1000 for another (though
AT) board… Thnaks, Jerry
That information is incorrect…I forget who it was, but someone
said they were using an Orchid '286 board with the Bridge board and it
worked fine and gave a Norton SI of something like 3.8. What doesn't
appear possible at this point is to replace the 8088 with a V20. I'm not
sure why, but I know of at least 2 folks who have tried it and it didn't
work.

from what I saw, it worked.

supposed to be compatable with DBASE III program files. I'm not sure of the
degree of compatibility, but the review I read indicated that most of the
common commands would work.
