Aegis Draw Plus will work with that setup. It's configurable for almost any plotter in existence. If the GQ 3500 has it's own plotting commands, and if they are similar to the Epson HI80 plotter, that will work also (we support the HI80 plotter already). Good luck.

Dear Aegis: I may not have phrased the question correctly. The Epson GQ3500 is a laser printer with an HP laser printer emulation board in it. Will Aegis Draw Plus support that. Also, if it does, is there an upgrade path for owners of Aegis Draw? Thanks, jim 70003,2344

Both Draw and Draw plus use the same system to talk to plotters. The advantage of Draw 1.1 and Draw Plus over the original Draw Plus is that you can load the plotter driver (a text file) by name, as opposed to the technique where you name the file plot.driver or somthing similar. A plot driver is a text file that describes the commands of the plotter. Now since the Epson GQ3500 is compatable with the HP Laserjet …. it could be used as a printer. This would work best with Draw Plus's Print-Full command, Draw Plus is available to Draw owners for the difference in prices. However. I believe that the GQ3500 DOES have plotter commands. If so this would create EXCELLENT output quality. These commands are similar to the Epson HI80 Plotter. Do check the manual for the 3500 to make sure about this. If not… then your best bet is Draw Plus' full page printing … which is good but not as good as plotting. Best of luck, I wish I had the GQ3500 here for testing, I did have a spec sheet prior to it's release, hence my understanding of it's plotter commands. Thanks.
