Celtic Artwork
7 messages in this thread
I have just downloaded the "New Uploads" file Celt1.lzh. IT IS FANTASTIC!
Anyone who needs Celtic knotwork/artwork will be amazed! There is also
another Celtic artwork file uploaded by the same person. Be prepared, the
uncompressed data fills almost three disks! I do a lot of DTP with
pagestream, and have tried these files. They are fantastic. Crisp, clean,
and good to look at. Many thanks to the person who uploaded. Thanks, Bob

Bob,
You seem to be very knowledgeable in the DTP scene. I am somewhat
new to this and would like to get a thread going here to talk about
ClipArt, Fonts, etc. for PageStream. I recently bought PageStream 1.8, and
more recently upgraded to 2.1. I have a few questions that I would like to
ask if you don't mind. First of all, do you have 2.1? This is a logical
question because that is what I have, and I can apply any questions that I
may ask you about the program to my software. SoftLogik has a section in
the AtariVen (boo) forum. Do you know if the ClipArt and Fonts in that
library will work with the Amiga version. The reason I ask is that the
person who does support for them on CIS uses an ST, and he isn't much help
when it comes to the Amiga. In fact, I'm lucky if I can get him to respond
to any of my messages. Also, are there any other forums on CIS (besides the
Amiga forums and the Atariven forum) where I can find ClipArt and Fonts
that will work with PS2.1? Like I said, I'm very new to this scene, and
any help you can throw my way will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Jim, doesn't PageStream 2.1 say that they will now work with ProDraw clips?
And edit them within PageStream? I haven't tried this yet, but if it does
work as they say there are several clip-art packages of ProDraw stuff.
There is probably a fair amount of ProDraw clip art available here in the
libraries. For fonts I am using Gold Disks extra set of CG fonts, which I
find work very well. I know that there have been a *ton* of PostScript
fonts uploaded here recently that will work with PageStream also. Hope
this helps.

Jim,
Jumping in here, one of PageStream's strong points is its ability to
import a WIDE variety of graphics formats. You should be able to import CIS
gif files, macpaint files from the MAC forums, TIFF files from the IBM
forums, prodraw clips, all the Atari graphics formats, and much more.
Now that PgS supports PageStream fonts, Compugraphic fonts, and Adobe
fonts the choice of fonts is wide open! I've been busy filling a 20meg
partition of my hd with pd fonts. Most of which I will never probably need
to use! But it is nice to know I have them. . .just in case.

Paul, *you* were the one I wanted to mention that has been uploading the PS
fonts. From me, at least, a big thanks.

Thanks, but someone else has also been doing a great deal of uploading.
Recently he/she has beaten me to the punch on uploading fonts from the Soft
Logik BBS. In fact fonts I've never seen before are showing up here, and
lately all I've been doing is downloading. Isn't this avalanche of fonts
great! Now if I can only find a use for them all!
-Paul-
Yeah, I am filling a SyQuest cartridge full of fonts. But "fonts are
cheap, design is expensive", so my wife says. Thanks for the ones you are
uploading tho.
