Michael: Try running a heavy duty MSDOS program like the Paradox data base on an AT. It works, but it takes forever. Put the same program on a 386, and it speeds merrily along. The difference is as great as that between a 68000 and a 25 mhz 68030. Why would you want to do this? At the office where I work, Paradox is _the_ standard data base. My Amiga 2500/30 has an AT bridge which hooks into a Novell network on which are: Paradox, Lotus 123 2.2 and 3.1, and WordPerfect 5.1. Thos are the standards, and I have to be able to use them. Now, I have Wordperfect 4.2 (?) on the Amiga side, and both MaxiPlan and The Advantage there, as well. They will import and export files, and feed ProPage. With Hijaak on the MSDOS side, I can scan graphics on the network's ScanJet, import them as 256 gray scale IFF files, and work with them in The Art Department and ProPage. I can also do lots of nice business animations/desk top presentations on the Amiga side using scads of software. BUT, to be in a business environment, I _MUST_ be able to interact easily with the MSDOS world. My company would pay for a 386 Bridge for me in a hot second. They put nearly $10,000 into my work station without blinking as it is. ?|^] Ray Lewis
