Toaster Crashes

Mr. Mooose–I'm having trouble with my 1.0 version of the Toaster.
For one, it succesfully loads from the workbench about half the time.
Sometimes I have to reboot the whole machine 5 times before it loads. It
usually flashes like usual for a time until it stops on a gray screen (on
the RGB monitor). Then it does nothing until the left mouse button is
pressed, at which time the amiga simply reboots. The program output usually
displays a distorted video signal of blue and black. I've noticed that if
the program output doesn't initialize to a basically black screen (instead
of the distorted black & blue) early in the toaster booting process, the
toaster boot will not finish correctly.
I'm running a A2000 with 5M ram and the fatter Agnus, and I'm using a
GVP series II +8 controller and SCSI HD. I was once told this is the cause
of white lines that appear in framestores and the like, which has been a
persistent problem as well.
Also, once the Toaster boots, I have no problem unless I enter
Lightwave. I often get GURUs in Lightwave. I also can't render frames and
save them to disk for later playback. When I attempt to play the animation
frames back, I get a dialogue box saying frames are not the correct type.
Are these problems related? Is it my system, or do I have a bad copy of
the software? I'm not running any background utilities, and I seem to have
enough RAM. Can you help?
