I have identified and fixed the problem with my file requester bypass program (FR_Bypass) failing to work correctly with PageStream 2.2. This is going through a couple of days of testing and I will be uploading the new version very soon. Since I didn't have PageStream before, I couldn't really chase the problem down.. I got it and installed it yesterday and had the fix working pretty soon afterwards… sorry for all the problems it caused! Khalid.

Anyone who picked on your for the FR not working probably needs a long dunking in a bucket of sludge. :^) Good job. And thanks for going after the PS thingee.

Ben, hehehe… in fact it wasn't about the trailing '/'.. I know enough to handle that like it should.. (asl, req and arp each require different handling) It was a lot more interesting than that. (smile) Khalid.

I thought it was about the slash stuff. At least that's what I thought our programmer told me after fixing it, but I usually turn off when I start hearing tech talk. Michael

Michael, hehehe.. then I'll reserve the technical explanation of the problem/solution for another forum. 🙂 Khalid.

You can go ahead and explain it to me. Just don't expect me to understand! My idea of programming is to find a bug, then ask Deron to fix it! 🙂 Michael

But I'm not in tech support. I just do this for fun to relieve tension. I write manuals, but I find it's good to do some tech support to learn what about the manuals confuses users, and what about the program confuses people, so that we can make the manuals better. I just reread the Aldus Freehand manual. Do you know that they have 19 people credited with writing, designing, illustrating and editing their manual? Can you believe it? I must be underpaid. Michael

Just something I saw here. :^) Anyway, it'll be good to put it back in and get rid of the 2.0 trash-questor again. Grid, I hate that thing. –Ben

Khalid: we have also fixed the problem from our end. Our next version of PageStream will work fine with your last FR release. If you want to upload a beta version of your FR to me I will test it with our in-house version of PgS. We've also made the changes in ASL handling in PageLiner, BME and HotLinks. (will the two fixes cancel out…)

Michael, ok… I'll email it to you later today… I just started playing with PageStream after years of using ProPage… so far, looks good. (grin)

Khalid, I have PageStream 2.2 sitting on the shelf awaiting the FR_Bypass fix. Just thought I let you know what I feel is the relative merit of your file requester vis-a-vis PageStream 2.2. :^} wmc
