#MSCDEX.EXE Questions

I bought the Sony Laser Library bundle, which consists of a CDU 7205 drive,
a Sony GUI interface, and six disks. Sony assumes you've never seen a
computer, that you will only use your computer to use their CD-ROM, and
that you will never want to know more. Consequently, their manual has no
guidance regarding the MSCDEX.EXE file they set up for you.
I have bypassed their GUI successfully. A friend has a Chinon drive, and
they have some instructions regarding MSCDEX parameters /D:, /E, /L:, /M:,
and /V, so I'm okay with those. My questions are:
1. Typing the MSCDEX.EXE file shows "usage MSCDEX [/E/K/S/V]". What does
/K do?
2. Is there any way to remove MSCDEX.EXE from memory without using third
party mark and release programs?
3. I have used mark and release to remove MSCDEX.EXE from memory after
use, but if I invoke it again without reboot it thinks it's using drive H
instead of drive G. I could edit the parameters each time to increment the
drive, I suppose, but is there a better way? What causes it to increment
the drive letter?
Check LASER2.TXT, Lib #4. It should have most of what you're looking for.

Oops, I forgot to mention in my earlier reply that I haven't heard of any
way to nuke MSCDEX without external utilities. MS didn't exactly create
the most well-behaved program when they created it. Their best technical
advice still thinks it won't loadhi… but we all know better!
