Could someone please tell me the differences between FutureSound 500 and Perf PerfectSound 3.0? I'm considering buying one or the other but cannot find a any info on either of them. Any info would be appreciated..

Rick, Because of product support, compatibility & overall quality I would choose PerfectSound 3.0. Most all digitizing software supports the PS Sampler. This is not to say FutureSound 500 is not a good system, I'm just not familiar with it. Howard – via Whap!

Ricky, I'm not familiar with FutureSound 500. I've had Perfect Sound 3.0 for a while. I like PS 3.0 because it uses software level control, which eliminates level adjusting potentiometers – a large source of noise. The software works well, although the on-screen gadgetry is a bit cryptic. I use it only occasionally, and always end up referring to the manual for button descriptions. (I'm a rev or two behind on the software, so it may have changed some in the meantime.) Hope this helps, 8) David

David, The graphic screen used by the Perfect Sound editor is a standard med-rez iff file, load it into DPaint & modify those cryptic buttons. I think the filename is ps.main. Howard – via Whap!

Howard, It's an interesting idea to modify the screen, do you know whether it works or not? I wonder if, since the buttons are gadgets, whether or not the tactic would work out. David

David, I modified the Perfect Sound screen a few months ago, no problems. Using DPaintIII I cleaned up the buttons & used a small bitmapped font to spell out the functions (Delete Range etc..). HW – via Whap!

Howard, Thanks for the info. I'll be certain to give it a try as time permits. David
