Hi all: I've got a new modem on the way and i'd like to know what fax programs
are available, how much, how good, and where to find. It's an ATT dataport
9.6fax and 14.4data…….I've seen GPfax from supra mentioned but haven't
found it. ……..Thanks WES

You should have no problem finding GPFax. If your local dealer doesn't
have it, he should be able to order it. If you don't have a local dealer,
you should be able to get it via mail order. I think you'll like it.
It's a nice little program.

Not sure about the States and what dealers stock there but if in doubt the
author of GPFax is here in Australia, Greg Perry. If you're intersted I
can Email his address/phone/email address to you. I have found it a good
and versatile program. Lately I have been using PageStream to send FAXes.
Make up the FAX in PGS, print to preferences printer while GPFax is
running which switches the output to a FAX file instead and send the FAX.

G'day Lu: I had the pleasure of spending 6 days of R n R in Sydney back in
1970. I was invited to stay and it was extremely tempting. Camped out at a
station one night with about 30 people. Had a big fire and cookout. Lots of
fun! Birds were beautiful and the blokes friendly.
I've since found Gpfax available thru mailorder catalogs for about $75 US.
Also I'm considering sending back the ATT Paradyne 14.4 modem and getting the
Supra 14.4 (includes Gpfax and AtalkIII for about $50 more than the ATT and
caller ID option). How much does the Gpfax go for in Australia?
Do you use WHAP!? If so I'm having a bit of a problem getting onto CIS at
9600 baud. Instead of going into CIS "HOST NAME" is displayed and WHAP never
takes over the session. Any ideas,,,,? Anyone??? Thanks for the reply Lu. Makes
me feel like an old time ham operator making contact across the

I assume you are in Sydney and use an Amiga/Whap to get into Compuserve.
If so then the phone no for entry via CisPacific is 415-1324
This is at 300/1200/2400 Baud rates

Ask for David Green who has a man in his team that owns an A500 who should
be able to help.
BTW if you have WB2.xx then I recommend that you DL Autopilot from the
Amiga Vendor forum were it is supported by the program's writer.
Give me a yell if you have any more trouble.

Not sure how much the regular price on GPFax is here. The Supra cost me
$650 all up and the program an extra $60 as a part of the
deal…interestingly ATalkIII was bundled with the modem. The immediate
past facilitator of our User group is Arnie Robbins ex USA..no relation?
🙂 yes I know there are 200 megapeople or so in USA.
I use AutoPilot but we only have 2400 baud access in Melbourne so far.
Whap! I tried early on but didn't manage to get it going, just sat there.
Also changed my settings and being a novice to CIS and starting to run up
big bucks, I left CIS alone for a few months. I'm very happy with
AutoPilot but that won't help you with Whap!…sorry.
