Based on your message to me of Jan 25, I ordered the Sony Laser Library Upgrade so I could use the Kodak Photo CD. However, the driver that comes with the upgrade kit, SONY_PF.SYS, cannot be loaded into EMS reliably with the /E switch. It works with some CDs and not with others. For example,it works with ABI's Business Phone Disc but not with Digital Directory Assistance's (DDA) PhoneDisc USA (also sold by DAK). The data on the screen from PhoneDisc has a lot of garbage in it. When I switch back to SONY_CDU.SYS and use the /E switch, PhoneDisc works fine. The /E switch also works fine with the Kodak Photo CD. When you use the /E switch, you get the message that 64k EMS is enabled. It's just that it is doesn't always work. I've tried this on a barebones CONFIG.SYS with no AUTOEXEC.bat and still get the same problem with PhoneDisc. Your Tech support said not to use the /E switch. I need the memory so I'm not using the upgrade kit at all since the old SONY_CDU.SYS will let you use the /E switch without any memory conflicts. Can you shed any more light on this problem? I passed this information on to Paul at DDA technical support (800) 541-3269 or FAX (301) 652-7810. Perhaps there would be some value to having your tech support talk to DDA tech support. I think the problem is with SONY_PF.SYS but maybe it's just the DDA disc.
