#CD DISK MANUFACTURING
3 messages in this thread
I am interested in learning more about the manufacture of CD's, that is, the
disk itself, rather than the data recording process. Can you recommend any good
articles, reference materials, or an industry contact who might be willing to
provide me with a mini-introduction to this technology? Many thanks. David
Fulton.
David:
There's a file called NEWBIB.TXT in Lib #14 that contains a number of recent
books that review the actual mfgr of discs. I especially recommend the book by
Dana Parker & Bob Starrett as a general review, and a series of pamphlets from
DMI. For more detailed info, you may want to acquire some of the standards
documents, and access to them is also described in this file.
Also, in the future, please set your nickname to reflect your full name. We
are going to move to a full name disclosure policy in the very near future.
Thanks.
And let me know if you need more info.

D,
If you email me your address, I will pass it along to Disc Manufacturing, Inc.,
who can send you information about how CDs are made.
Or you could look in the library here for MFG.TXT which has DMI's address, and
write them yourself.
