Hi Steve, That doesn't make sense to me either. Refresh me…does the CD run off of the Adaptec or the Sound Blaster Pro? If it runs off of the Adaptec, make sure you have the CD-ROM Utility kit from them that includes the CD drivers for the respective drives. I would also check to ensure that you have the latest version of MSCDEX. I believe that is 2.21 and can be downloaded from CIS. Doesn't sound too cool about NorthGate. You might want to go over to the IBMHW forum and post a couple of messages there too. Randy

Randy, The CD Runs off the Adaptech Card. The Problem is with NorthGate. They say their ISA Boxes Won't do BusMastering. Last Weekend I went and got the Trantor SCSI card the NEC uses. It doesn't do busmastering and my CD problem went away. I also down loaded from Trantor their NT driver for the card and that worked fine too. My MSCDEX driver is 2.21 too. I'll check out the IBMHW forum and see if there's anything up there……. Thanks for getting back to me…. P.S. In the end I'm just disgusted with NORTHGATE and WON'T EVER BUY OR RECOMMEND ONE TO ANYONE AGAIN. Steve

Does anyone know whose motherboard is in the Northgate ISA box that doesn't allow bus mastering? Micronics?
