Ok, this one is for all you techies out there …
I have a Texel 3024 drive in a 486 tower. The Texel is connected to the
computer via a Future Domain TMC-850 M adaptor card. There is a ribbon cable
running from the drive to the adaptor card that connects to a SCSI port on the
card inside the tower.
Now the interesting part. The back of the Future Domain card has a port
labelled "Apple SCSI port."
Question: Would it be feasibly possible to run a SCSI cable from my Mac to the
Future Domain card. Then with Apple CDROM driver software, I should
theoretically be able to run the drive from my Mac as well as the DOS machine.
I know simultaneous access is impossible. I envision a system whereby I toggle
the DOS driver software on boot up. If I load the DOS driver, I have to use it
on a DOS session. But if I don't load the DOS drivcer and let the Mac load it
instead, I could use the drive with the Mac.
Anyone tried this? Any comments?
