#Can I use this SW?
4 messages in this thread
Dear Amiga Users: My son would like us to buy a game designed for an MS-DOS
machine. We have an AT Bridgeboard with our hard drive that gives us the
equivalent of an IBM clone 286 capability. But I want to make sure that this
game will run with our monitor/system etc. Here are the specifics of our
system:
Amiga 2500, Monitor is C=1084
Bridgeboard partition is 10 megs The ad for the game specifies the
following:
Mega Man 3, MS-DOS (IBM and Compatibles) 512k
(color graphics card required, fully supports EGA
and TANDY) Thanks for your advice; let us know if you need any additional
information. 🙂

You require some type of graphix card to run that game…your present config
won't support it.

You will be able to run the game in the monochrom EGA mode. You will
probably want to get a dedicated PC video card. Don't bother with EGA,
get a VGA or SVGA video card (they can run EGA)…

Dick,
You would be better off with a VGA card, but you would also need another
monitor–the 1084 doesn't support VGA.
I'm not sure what it means by "color graphics card required, fully supports
EGA". It may support CGA to some extent, in which case you can run it, though
you may not like the display.
You might want to get an EGA card just for this, because they have a composite
jack which I think you can connect to a 1084 monitor.
