Why no ROMs with the A-Max II? I hear they are hard to come by. If I make an offer on your stuff w/o the ROMs, will I be stuck?

If you are interested, I have an AMAX w/128K ROMs and true Apple Mac drive for $300. Chris

Please help me a bit….What do you mean <true Apple Mac drive>? A Mac friend of mine told me that all 800K floppy Apple drives are the same — yes? no?

Yep, I mean an Apple manufactured and logoed drive. Some people care, some don't. Chris

Mike, You can get Roms from a number of locations. I've heard that the price varies somewhat but you should be able to find them. Why not call Shreve Systems and get a price then let me know. Shreve Systems – 1-800-227-3971 Matt

Thanks for the info….I almost had a pair today for $40 from a broken board. The first technician/salesperson was all set to let them go when another technician interceded with that ol' Apple proprietary attitude and the price went up to $150. All this at a time when Apple is sleeping with IBM and the ROMs in question are years out-of-date. Old arrogance dies hard…. I'll let you know what I find…
