Philip, I seem to be having another problem with PPage, after printing to my Dot Matrix printer, and quitting the program, PPage is not releasing all of its memory. I have 3M in my machine, and before stating PPage, have about 2.5M free. After printing and then quitting the program, it returns about 1.5M, therefore 1M of Fast ram is going missing. This then requires a reboot of the machine in order to re-aquire the missing memory. Any idea what might be causing this, I have checked for the presence of temp files on the ram disk, but there is nothing there. Any and all suggestions gratefully received. Thanks, Bob_Bolton

Robert, Perhaps there are libraries that have been loaded into memory that have yet to be flushed? There is a command floating around called FLUSH, you issue the command in a Shell and it frees up some memory by "flushing" the library routines from memory. Usually unfreed memory gets released the next time a program calls for more memory. There is another command called FRAG and it gives a list of your system's contiguous memory chunks. Chris

Sometimes various libraries will still be available to the system and therefore 'open' as it were. Try typing avail flush at a shell promt. You will get back some memory. Pete from Dorset in Englands West Country – via Whap!
