I never saw a response to your PixelPop difficulty. I can answer part of your question: PixelPop captures GIF files in either 320x200x256, or, if you have a program that runs at 640x480x16 colors, such as Lotus or Harvard Graphics, it can capture at 640×480. This should explain why you can't capture AniPro at 640×480, even with the VESA driver loaded. It may also be a reason for you getting locked up, I'm not sure. You might consider using AAPro's convenient F5 function key, "Save snapshot of screen to.GIF file" feature. You have to deal with the cursor, which gets captured as well (fool your friends!). I haven't tried this, but you might even be able to design a cursor (have you noticed those .cur files?) that doesn't display, and use it only when you're going for a screen capture. Nik

Save snapshot sounds great, but I guess it only works within AAPRO. I can't fathom why pixelpop is limited to 16 colors at 640 x 480. I'm trying to remember which program I was capturing from when it locked. I know one was a crummy graphing program, poor man's Harvard Graphics. But that is what I want to do — get graphs from other program in .pcx or .gif format. Thanks for your help.

You can get rid of the cursor by selecting View from the Pic menu. – J
