I have heard problems with S3 chip-based cards. I am not sure if this is true
(Vibrant? Panacea? jump in here) but it may be a driver issue. Upgrading to
the latest might work, if the latest is available from HP. If not, perhaps
Vibrant or Panacea can help. They make some excellent drivers!
