Does anyone know anything about the Matrox Personal Producer software for their
Illuminator-16 card? A desktop video brochure I received indicates that this
software will assemble and edit video, audio, graphics, titles, digital video
effects and transitions under a MM Windows interface.
Is this the toaster for the PC (limited to the Matrox board)? Is this as good
as it sounds? I have a Targa+ 64 and Umatic SP VTR, but I'm in the dark ages
on the assemble and edit end.
Is there anything like this editing software available for the Targa+?
Hi Partrick, It is my understanding that the Matrox Personal Producer is much
like the Video Toaster, only for the PC. Bown & Wag (spell?) will soon come
out with a system like it only for $500.00 ken

Thaks for your response. If you have a listing or know how I can reach this
company, I would appreciate it. Hopefully it is software that will work on my
Targa+ 64. The Matrox looks interesting, but I would have to purchase their
board, an expensive redundancy.

PMJI, but that's probably Brown & Waugh and they seem to market low-cost
"innovative" products. Don't expect a lot in the way of quality for that kind
of money I'm not being a snob, or anything being strucken by poverty and
broadcast-video-envy (a serious malady), but that's what I've found. Basically,
I know what the good quality equipment is, I just can't afford most of it <g>.
Patrick – I was at a meeting last week where there was a Video Toaster and a
video presentation of the Matrox. You could buy a Toaster and all necessary
peripherals and do all your editing with it for less than the Matrox costs, and
without investing in a proprietary system (as the Matrox is). IMHO…PMJI
