HI Can somebody please help. I am wanting to add a multi-media extension to my pc.What is the latest developments/equipment available,how much will it cost and more to the point exactly what will i need.I am wanting to use it for research,software and i think (with my limited knowlage) that will be my first uses. Any advice will be most helpfull. Thank you Ian Foreman

It really depends on what you want to do. If what you want is the best current Multimedia playback capability and some business audio to boot, almost any of the top of the line multimedia upgrade kits will do, with the top of the line Texel the best price-performance kit and the PAS16/NEC multispeed CD ROM the top of the consumer line. If cost is no object and you intend to do creative audio for CD mastering, applications, etc., or involved MIDI work with a synthesizer, then Turtle Beach's soundcard is the creme de la creme and the most impressive current CD ROM reader is Pioneer's quad speed 6 CD changer.
