#FAST SCSI

Does anybody know about a FAST-SCSI controler named Z3 FAST-LANE that is
supposed to offer more than 3MB/sec of real life transfert rate in
Synchrone mode?? For example, this controler could give you 3.3MB/sec
with a Quantum LPS 240MB drive that is giving only 1.15 MB/sec on the
A2091/GVP or IVS controlers… we tried this Quantum LPS drive with a PC
FAST-SCSI controler and we got a transfer of 11MB in about 3 seconds.
Pat,
I've never heard of the product, but I do believe that the reported 11
meg/sec transfer rate from a 240LPS is actually faster than the drive is
capable (taking out the effect of the cache on the drive).
It was actually 11MB in 3.5 seconds (~3.3MB /sec).
I read in a recent AmigaWorld that the 040 Zeus accelerator is a FAST
SCSI-II controler card… I wonder if anybody ever tried it?
Oh,
Guess, I misread that. You are right. I looked at it again, and sure
enough missed that little parenthetical remark! Guess I need to clean my
glasses.
