I have just got Orchid Sound Producer Pro with Future domain SCSI CD-ROM Interface and Toshiba XM-3401B internal Drive. I seem to be having a problem with the system not recognising that the CD-ROM drive is there. I get a message MSCD000 not found or similar. Being the weekend no tech support available until Monday, but I thought I would try on here, if anyone has a similar system, or could give me some pointers. Incidentally the FDCD.sys and MSCDEX are in the config.sys and autoexec respectively. I am not sure where the problem lies, the interface card ? or the CD rom drive. The drive will play back audio CDs (although as expected at double speed) through headphones, with the test jumper in place. The producer pro works fine. Sorry if this is a bit bitty thinking of things to put down as I type!!!! Any help or pointers most welcome. Should I go back and buy the SCSI interface for the Toshiba, and not bother with the Orchid interface? Thanks Steve Dunn

Start with file Laser3.txt in lib #4 here. It should help, even tho' it doesn't specifically address the SCSI interface. If that turns out to be at the root of your problem, there are some references to help articles that I think you can access thru the PCdatabase on CI$. Hope it helps!
