Kevin is great white north. I'm midwest. I can't appreciate ear rings (except
on women), tatoos (on anything) or ponytails (except on women). After all, I do
live in a small town, so exotic ideas, far out looks and fancy coffee are not
worth the curiosity factor they engender. I'll let you westerners have the
tatooed ponytailed ear ring wearing leather jacketed born to be wild
motorcycling types.

Well, I was born and raised in the biggest little-town in in the North
Central States (or possibly anywhere): Detroit. After 33 years I couldn't
stand it another minute. Talk about closed-minded blue-collar neanderthal
types; they were almost as scary as born again Bible-thumpers.

I'll agree that the other extreme is just as ridiculous. Obviously you believe
the theory that neanderthals interbred with the modern human and the result is
closed minded blue collar religious fanatics. You westerners can have them too
as well as the new agers. (g)

Well, Ed, you remember the Chalker Theory of Westward Migration, don't you?
That our ancestors were the scum, crooks, losers, and nuts of the Old World who
came here and settled the East becoming the new Establishment, forcing the next
wave of scum, crooks, losers, and nuts further west, and so on, and so on,
until, of course, the waves reached the Pacific where, unable to go any
further, they have been stacking up for the last century….
Of course, that doesn't explain Texas, does it?

Just a footnote: I thought we were talking about fashion not religion or
politics. Gee, I used to have long hair too. I thought about a ponytail but
with my big ears I would have looked like Dumbo.
