I have another suggestion for inverse kinematics. I'm not sure if you've ever used softimage's inverse kinematics and global, and local envelopes. But it is really a great feature. You can take any model. Draw some inverse kinematics chains inside the objects, and then assign the mesh object to be the global envelope of the inverse kinematics skeleton. Also, if possible you could add deformations at the joints and the inner and outer side of the chains. ie..(so if you bend an arm the muscle can expand, and or get smaller..) This is a very usefull tool for animating objects that are all one piece. By the way I read your listings of some of the new ipas, and I can't wait to use them… thanx, Fred Nilsson

I'm personally a bigger fan of the way Wavefront does IK and envelopes (with FFD's around the joints) than the way SI does it. – G

Well, unfortunately my Wavefront experienc doesnt include Dynamtion or Kinemation. I did have some Wavefront experience at the school I went to but they didnt have the latest stuff. I think I know what you are talking about with the FFD's cause I watched the demonstration at Siggraph last year…
